I already plugged this device in, but then i had to get the softwere off the internet, so i canceled when the auto install popped up. where do i find it now

Go to conrtol panle,
click on Add new hardware and it should find it for you.

Right Click on My Computer.
Goto Properties.
Goto Hardware Tab
Click Device Manager.
Then Windows XP/2000 will show the Components you have installed.
If it Win98, WinME Then,
Right Click on My Computer.
Goto Properties
Goto Device Manager Tab.
Then Windows98/ME will show the Components you have installed.

Right Click My Computer Icon.
Click Properties.
Click on the Hardware tab.
Click on the Device Manager button.
Click on View and select "Devices by type".
Your new hardware whether installed properly or not will be listed there.

If the device plugs in to one of your USB ports all you need to do is unplug the device you'll hear one ding, now count to 10 and plug the device back in, the computer will see it.

Just reboot your system....your system will identify it again until the proper drivers are installed.
