Serious? 4 years of higher education and you can't think of a topic on your own? Wow...that's scary.
How computers have increased the range of terrorism, how the gov't is clamping down on electronic freedoms, the effects of computers/internet on the entertainment industry, how computers help us kill people in countries we've invaded....

Well, try engineering solutions, astronomical solutions, medical....etc. All you need is the right formula. Sometimes too many formulas to use.
Or you can try a controller program that sets the computer as a controller of something.
You know billing system, enrollment system, payroll system, inventory system, etc., are commonplace and sources are easily obtained. Try to be different however that needed some time, hardwork, and understanding.

Pick up the latest Popular Mechanics, a good article on digital archivial problems. Mainly obsollescent software leaving their creations unreadable by newer systems. Good idea with room to grow!
