NO turtles do not contract aids ,aids is only present in humans and some chimps, also a similar virus feline HIV is found only in the Cheetah. How do hermit crabs have sex..? Well the apt reply would be I don't know ,you should go see a female hermit crab and ask for some and then you'll know.LOL.Nay hermit crabs do not have sex they breed by releasing sperm from the male and eggs from the female, the eggs are fertiziled and float and hatch as plankton to grow into hermit crabs simple, aint it..?

hi there
no turtles can not get aids ... and as for hermit crabs it impossible to tell them apart from males to females... most hermit crabs are wild caught because of that ... they usually live in groups of more then a 100 crabs in the wild ... no one really knows how they actually breed...

i have heard of many different forms of immuno-compromising viruses, but i have never heard of one specific to reptiles. darn fine question. i have no solid proof, but i suspect the answer is that there is no aids equivalent for reptiles.
as far as whether a human HIV virus can infect a turtle, the answer is unquestionably NO. it is a biochemical impossibility.

hermit crab sex is ambiguous at best. all i could figure out was that both the male and the female have to partially leave their respective shells to mate. they are egg layers.

Turtles and AIDS- nope. They get a lot of diseases, but only a few can come from humans and vice versa.

We worry a little about Salmonella from turtles (good tank cleanliness and handwashing fights that) and turtles easily get respiratory illness from us.
