Im an american living in Mexico in the 8th grade,In the U.S people love me.But here its like they hate me , well some popular girls do from my classroom.Its weird because to be popular you have to be screaming all t8he time and kicking people, I dont like it, but if I am not like them im like a freak, I dont care about being popular what I care about is having friends, Im kinda quiet but not shy AT ALL ,in the US ive kinda always been popular.Everybody else in my school likes me..I think,guys love me and are always hitting on me.Uts lioke the only people I have are my best friends,which I had to change classes to be with after 4 months of school.I dont like giving up AT ALL so this decision was very hard for me to make.
Why do they hate me?

Emma, the fact that you are an American, living in another country makes you a target to be ostracized. Don't let it get to you because the ones who really want to be your friend, will be your friend. If you do not like the behavior of those other girls, by all means, avoid them, as they are not the kind you would want to associate with anyway. Just think, even if you did all the screaming and kicking people, they would still treat you like a "freak" simply because you are different. They do not like you because of this and knowing that you are American is an excuse for them to dislike you.
If you can find one or two special friends, then let that be your choice. You said being popular is not important to you and that is the best decision you made.

u don't like the "Best Friends" that u have now becuz u fear of being like them, that's not who u want to be thats good, they sound like spoild brats, u should do what i do I'm not shy ether, and when i am i hate it, i usually go up to the shy people, (boy, or girl) and just talk to them hang out wit them they ussually end up really kool, my first day of high skool i didn't have any friends i walked into a class, and there was a girl in there she didn't say anything to me, so i decided to start a conversation wit her weve' been best friends for the past 4 years now, i have many other frinds i gained by doing just that, lol, try it. u don't want to b a spoiled brat like those girls, please just try it. Sounds to me like you'd be much better off trying your best to ignore the few people that don't like you. "Everybody else" are enough people liking you. You don't need small minded mean people wasting any more of your energy. Girls are difficult in high school. In a few years, you'll look back and feel sory for them and laugh it all off.
