Which is the first part, where they meet Sailors Venus and Jupiter?

okay I am trying to buy this for my daughter! what is the first part called is it called "R"?

In reference to the anime, are you buying the English Dub version or the Uncut anime version? Depending on your daughter's age, I don't know if she's ready or even want to read the subtitles.

The US version of the first 2 seasons is just called "Sailor Moon." That is the one where they meet Venus and Jupiter. If you were to buy the Japanese Boxed Set, it would be called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. In addition, the US version is also edited for content (violence, nudity, innuendos) , so if you think your daughter isn't ready to see the original japanese version, then I'd stick with the US edited one.

The boxed set is really difficult to find, but...You can buy them from sites like amazon.com, or ebay, where the DVDs are sold separately. These are the volumes in order.

People may jack up the prices because the license for the series is expired, and there is no intention of the US acquiring it again.

Oh, one more thing...DVDs 1-7 is the first season (In Japanese it's called "Sailor Moon"), And DVD 8-14 is the second season ("Sailor Moon R "in Japanese). The original title is called "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Pretty Solder Sailor Moon)," but in the US, they just took out Bishoujo Senshi! ^^;;;


However, if you want to get the UNCUT version, you may have to check some good sites, because they're extremely hard to find.

I know I know! My daughter loves it. I was fortunate enough to purchase mine from The RightStuf. I also found the dolls and a Sailor Moon costume for my daughter. They are her most prized possessions.

They all met in the first season. No "R", "S" or "Super S".

Good luck trying to find them. Toei pulled all the North American licenses a couple of years ago. If you do find old videos, be prepared to pay through the nose.

Hopefully, those licenses will be reinstated once again and we'll be able to buy it off the shelves.

I think giving a child an "out-there" name should be up to the child to decide when they can legally change their name, and not the parent.
