Bacteria that enters the urethra and travel up the urinary tract are the usual cause of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Bacteria that normally live in the large intestine and are present in feces are the most common source of infection. Sexual intercourse may introduce bacteria into the urinary tract, especially in women. The symptoms are pain and/or burning sensation when u pee, and urge to pee even if u pee only a small amount, pain in the abdomen or lower back. I have had several of those and they are really painful, I would advise u to go to the doctor immediately before it gets worst. Usually they give u a 3 day antibiotic and thats what does it. I recommend for u to drink alot of water to help rinse out bacterias. U can also drink cranberry juice. There are some pills however that can help u with the pain if u cant go to the doctor right away and they are very good They are called (URISTAT) and u can buy them over the counter. I suggest u go see a doctor right away. Good Luck

Its ok lots of ppl don't know this..........

A urinary tract infection (uti) is caused by an infection the travels up the urinary tract from the outside or is an infection in the kidneys that travels down the urethra.

You can clear it up... here are some tips:
- drink lots of liquids especially those that will help detoxify your body( pomegranite, blueberry, cranberry and water)
- make sure you go to the bathroom immediately after intercourse
- take a multi-vitamin

Those are all good ways to prevent or clear a simple UTI.

If you only have mild urinary tract infection, drinking lots of water and pure, unsweetened cranberry juice will help. If it's so bad that you're running to the washroom every 10 minutes, it's best to go to the doctor who will prescribe you an antibiotic to clear it. The most effective antibiotic I know is Inoflox, it works within the hour you take it, but it's very expensive.

Does it burn when you pee? Do you have to pee all the time? Does the outside of your yoni hurt after you pee? It may be a urinary tract infection. You can try treating it without going to the doctor - refrain from sex, drink lots of water and unsweetened cranberry juice. But I'd go to get it checked out. I had all the symptoms and thought I had a urinary tract infection and it turned out I had diabetes. (But that's rare, so don't freak out.)

A bladder infection is a urinary tract infection and no you cannot clear it up without going to the doctor. Left untreated it can spread to your kidneys or blood stream and cause major problems.

A Urinary tract infection is when bacteria start living in the bladder and they invade the bladder wall.

I've heard that drinking lots of water will help it go away

BE CAREFUL with this tho because it can turn into a kidney infection, and kill you .

i KNOW you should KNOW that also.
its an infection. in your urinary tract.
its a bacterial infection in the bladder. you might be able to clear it up by drinking tons and tons of water so youre peeing constantly, as well as drinking cranberry juice, or taking the cranberry concentrate pills. (over the counter) an enzyme in cranberries prevents the bacteria from attaching itself to the bladders lining. however, urinary tract infections can lead to kidney infections which are extremely painful (i had one. very very painful. they had to give me very painful shots in my butt to get rid of it) so its best to go to the doctor and get antibiotics to make sure it clears up completely.

No you can't because you have a bladder infection and if not treated and let it go might even affect your kidneys. So go to teh Dr. he will give you some pills for about 2 weeks and then your all done. And all you have to do is pee in a cup. SO don't wait too long
