Make the base cards from white cardstock....cut a 8 1/2"x11" piece in half to make two pieces 8 1/2x 5 1/2 and fold these in half to make 5 1/2x 4 1/4" cards. Cut light blue cardstock into 5x4" rectangles and glue to the front of the card with a glue stick. Find some chunky foam stamps in snowflake patterns and stamp with white ink all over the front of the card. When dry, use a silver glitter glue pen to decorate or outline the snowflakes. When completely dry ( at least 8 hours) open each card and write Merry Christmas with a silver gel pen. Very easy and elegant looking.

A simple idea is to use red or green cardboard for the base card, and then cut out long triangles from metalic corrugated cardboard. The triangles can be glued onto the front of the card and topped with a squin star, or whatever you like. easy!

Hi:

Try using the following PC. programs:

Printshop
Scrapbook and More
Greetings Workshop
Printmaster Gold or Platinum edition
Print Workshop
American Greeting's Crafts
American Greeting series

They have pre-made cards and crafts that a nine year old can easily modify to he or her taste or style and can make there own too. Great for parents to work with.
