OK , the answer would depend on who you are more than who the boss is. It's like saying - how do I deal with all the people in my life?
All of those who enjoy life, relationships with others have first made
a discovery of themselves - really getting to know themselves(not too many ever do). Then, If you know at heart that you are an OK person, worthy of love and respect- then you will know that is true of everyone else AND the boss. I wish you well.

I suspect you are implying that your boss is a difficult personalty. I always have said doing the job is much easier than providing the "care and coddling" of your boss:
here are a couple of thoughts which have always worked for me: Never let him know what you are really thinking.
Watch off duty conversation.
measure your exposure less not more
Give him quality
here are a couple of quotes;
If you are looking for a fight you have come to the wrong guy. or
you will get argument from me I am on your side.
Warning: He must think you very sincere when you say these things
good luck
Don't forget to vote for best answer for whomever
thanks

Bosses aren't interested in your life. They don't hire you so they can double date with you and your girlfriend or get a concert review from you the morning after or even to celebrate your Aunt Mabels birthday. Bosses are in it for the money. If you are in it for his success (read that as money) you'll get along well. If you're a playbaby or you come to work to work your e-mail or you'are constantly out chatting up the babes you're not going to get along. Work isn't school - they don't have to keep you around if you're not with the program.

This has worked for me. Look for another job and then you will not have to deal with him. If you prefer to stay at that job, then I would suggest using reverse psychology, this has been very useful in dealing with the undesirables that I have to deal with on a regular basis.

If you are having problems with your boss, set down with him and have a nice long talk. Find out what is really bugging him, you might be suprised., then take it from there.
