Impeachment is nothing more than an indictment. It does not remove a person from office. It takes a simple majority in the U.S. House to impeach a federal officer (President and Vice President are federal officers). If they are impeached, they will then stand trial in the U.S. Senate, where it takes a 2/3 majority to convict and remove from office.
The Dems do have enough votes in the House to impeach, but they are no where close enough to the required number of votes to convict in the Senate. They one have 51 seats, and need a minimum of 67 votes.

First of all the Democrats have been on the outside looking in for 12 years. If they spend the next 2 years with having impeachment hearings instead of working to make America better then in 08 they will be looking in again. This country went through this with BILL the last 2 years of his term & got tired of it.They will NOT stand for it this time. Today is not the time for revenge but the time to work TOGETHER for a better america.

You talk about impeachment of the president and vice president, do you think that we should waist the time and money of the American people just to satisfied a few and at the end both of them come out innocent. What is wrong with you.?? Don't you think that we the American people have more important problems that the government should give them first priority, like terrorism, illegal immigration, wages, jobs, gasoline prices, the war in Irak, etc. etc. Don't you think that we should take care of all these first than to be worrying about something that is just politics.

The democrats have two years to show the American people what they're made of - it would be a very bad mistake to initiate impeachment hearings with absolutely no valid evidence to support such a move.
Barring any extraordinary event or revelation in the next two years, it won't happen - you can bet on it.

Let me see if they do, they will stay so busy doing that, they will not work on or pass any other laws.
It will seem vindictive and attacking, nor trying to work or get anything done.
