Firstly, when you say take "more" of Mexico, you're implying that building the fence we're stealing Mexico's rightful land. However, the proposed border fence is on an already clearly-defined boundary. In addition, just suddenly deciding to take a chunk of land that's over a hundred miles below the current border would result in international disapproval, which could possibly lead to economic sanctions (not good!) or a war with Mexico.

Also, if we do build the fence, the proposed fence isn't a long, continuous wall. Its only being built at the points where the most illegal immigrants are arriving. That means if we build the fence 100 miles south, the US would need to spend more of the taxpayer's money to conduct further research on the high-frequency points. The alternative would be to waste even more taxpayer's money on a largely useless fence.

Therefore its not a good idea to build a border fence 100 miles south and steal Mexico's land.

What do people think, by building a fence it will
keep the mexicans out. This project is a waste
of money and time. As long as the United States
exists there will be illegals coming in by air; land
or sea. So control is better than trying to illima-
nating the problem because it will never happen.

Such a thought is simply, Un-American, North, Central or South!

In this day and age, it is totally irresponsible to even suggest such an idea, less vote on it!

Building such a fence (in the 1st place) is totally wrong! It will not stop those who desire to cross the border. It is a total waste of the tax-payers money! Taking by force is not the way to handle this situation. By building a wall, we are only lining the pockets of political contributers. It will do nothing to help decrease illegal visitors to this country!

What we need to do is utilize the laws already in place and send illegal folk back to their homes, whereever they are!

By saying we could take "more" of Mexico implies we are already taking part of it. Even with a fence that has yet to be funded or implemented we would simply be drawing a line down the already-existent border between the two nations.

While you may not support the idea of a fence it is hardly fair to suggest we're taking part of Mexico.
