Yes you do want to delete your cookies!!!! A cookie is something that when you are in a web site they attach it to your computer. Some cookies even go as far as connecting to their web site once in a while and sending them info like what other sites you have been in and how many times you have been in them. The way that they do this is usually when you send a e-mail it will wake the cookie up so it can do its thing and go over the web by hiding itself behind your e-mail. Have you ever gotten a spam e-mail from a site you have been in and wondered HOW THE HE+L did they get my e-mail address when you never gave it to them. Or been in a site and get a e-mail from another site that basicly is about the same as the site you were in. That from the cookies. The sites say the reason is so that the next time you go to their site because the cookie has their URL (unique resource locator) this is what allows one web server to locate another one.Your computer connects to your internet service providers server which connects to the websites internet service providers server which connects to the websites computer or if they have alot of computers they will have a server which then connects to their computers. Each server has a URL. This is why when you type a sites name in to the address window you dont have to know and type in their IP address. They say that because you already have their URL on your computer stored in the cookie that your computer wont have to search for it and it will connect to their site faster!! Basically they are talking about a millionith of a second faster BIG DEAL.You want to get them off of your computer. I delete them every night before I turn my computer off. Also if you get alot off them they will actually slow down your computer or even in some cases cause your computer to freeze up. My tech class had a 2 day class on this (8 hours). So in other words get them of of there!!!!!!!

Basically do what simon says ( no pun ment there simon to get to internet options open my computer, then control panel, then internet options)

HPs are good computers. You made a wise discision. Ok, here's what you do. There are two different ways that you can do this. You can either go to the control panel, then to network and internet connections and then to internet options. Another is to go to tools when you are in your internet explorer and go down to internet options. I prefer this way, it's much faster.
When you are in there you can go to where it says delete cookies in the center of the page. Click it and conferm it and then you are done. I would reccommend you also delete your temporary files as well, if you are sure you won't need them. Your temporary files is a folder of all of your recently visited sites.

Assuming you are using internet explorer, Click Tools => Internet Options => General - Delete Cookies

My advice is don't do it. There is nothing wrong with cookies and the system will manage them for you. Contrary to popular myth, there are no security issues with cookies.

All you have to do is open up your browser like I.E.(internet explorer) click on Tools at the top of the browser window..a drop down menu will come down...then you click on Internet Options...then under the General tab in the middle of the window you'll see a area to delete your cookies and history...I hope this helps...Good luck =)

P.S. If your using IE7 Tic on the "Tools" icon in the browser itself and select "delete browsing history" a new window opens and there are buttons to delete temporary files, cookies, history, clear forms, and clear passwords. You can delete all or do each separately the way YOU want.

Others are: Yahoo Beacons and Adobe Flash PIE

Make sure you disable all of them
