I have one and just buying the minutes is a hassle and everything. But if you don't talk alot on the phone and you just need it in case of emergency then yeah they're great. But if you talk alot on the phone then it's not going to be really worth all the money in the end. I personally just use mine for texting people and if I must talk on it I do. Like texting it takes 0.03 seconds away and when you read a text it is free.

I had one for about a year. I hated it. The service was bad, buying minutes was really complicated and took way too long, and the phones are very over priced. I like prepaid phones, so I got a Cingular go phone, I am very happy with it, and its much cheaper, gets better signal, and you can still keep track of your minutes, but only online or after you charge (like call or text)

I know that they are good if you need a phone and have the discipline to use it as an emergency mobile unit. The air time is expensive. You cannot use it as a land line or a normal cel phone. If you need to make lots of calls while mobile you need to get a regular cel phone not a pay as you go phone.
