I'm currently looking at a few universities: University of Michigan, NYU, Boston University, and University of Pennsylvania. I'd like to attend a school with an excellent music department, however, I would not like to pigeonhole myself into selecting a school based solely on their music department. I am also looking into business/music business. I was wondering if anyone knew any good schools towards the two fields I am looking at and which one out of those that I am considering so far best suit the criteria. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check out DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. It's one of the most elite music schools in the U.S. I have friends on the faculty there. Do a search for: depauw.edu, and check out the credentials of the faculty.

Look at Oberlin, as well. Can't speak about its prowess in Business, though. Good luck!
