Your math is terrible... hypothetically, if he was worth 50 billion dollars and he gave up his entire fortune to every individual in the world --everyone would receive a whopping 8 dollars and 33 cents...
Not as pretty, if he were to give up only 10 billion, everyone in the world would get a 1 dollar and 66 cents.
So, you are wrong in thinking that everyone would get 1 billion or a million dollars. I think it's best he invests in charities --because non-for-profit organizations can turn that money around and make more and help people at the same time.

If every one had that much money then the cost of everything would go up so that no one could really buy any more than they can now. Giving large amounts to a few organizations help more than a little to everyone. If you want a billion dollars then you will have to work for it like he did. People who are wealthy take chances unless they inherit it and then their ancestors took the chances. If you want the brass ring then you have to grab for it, you might now get it the first time around but if you keep on trying and doing all that is necessary you will achieve your dreams. «

If you had asked 'if God answered' all prayers it would have helped because just 'listening' is a thing we would not know unless there is a response! And yes, we won't know in strictly secular view if there is one God at all and if he heard and complied with prayers of humans!! But see the wealth of responses, from different angle, mostly supporting the view that God was there to listen. If we can have a Super Computer developed with our human endowments, how much more the ONE who had developed our excellent body with its exemplary capacities, be able to do greater wonders! He could be the Biggest Computer watching each with a chip placed in our own Minds, to instantly know what we think and need!! As a person quoted from Luke (Gospel) to say that 'the Kingdom of God was within', which falls in line with Hindu perception of God also, as the Antharyamin, the Indweller of our hearts, there should be no problem with his listening to our prayers! But how he responds is the one that would baffle us! For, we know if the prayer is complied, that He had listened and acted. Suppose the prayer did not seem to help, we don't say the prayer was rejected, but claim it was 'not heard' by God! For, we always assume that our prayers deserve compliance and God was there to simply fulfill all our perpetual wishes of sorts!! If we have the maturity to assume, as a contributor rightly said here, that God doesn't need to be prayed for, as He knew what we need and how and when to fulfill the needs, we shall not be least disappointed. Do you fulfill all that your wards ask for? In her ignorance your five year old girl would ask for an 'aeroplance' right in the backyard. You would only coax her that she can fly from air field only and that she would be taken on a flight sometime. You will and can NOT fulfill the weird request. God won't give you the promotion you asked for, if there was no balance in your Merit account just for that request. He would rather have you wait for someother merited gift at the appropriate time. So God listens from the depth of your heart and does care to fulfill them the way that is best for you, at the right time. If you won't buy all this belief, you are free to be satisfied with the random theory and be not disappointed with prayers and all.

As pointed out, your math is terrible.
Second, he is adding the most to the well being of the world by doing what he is already doing. Further, he contributes extraordinary amounts of money to charity. You should look up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
http://www.gatesfoundation.org/MediaCenter/FactSheet/
It currently has 31.9 billion dollars in it and is giving away around 1.4 billion dollars a year.

Your figures are retarded. But regardless of that, he just donated the bulk of his fortune to charity. He started the Bill Gates foundation with his money and a massive donation from the second richest man in the world.
So people calling him greedy, clearly don't follow the news.

Do you realize how much he donates to charity? He donates a LOT to charity, and he makes a difference in a lot of people's lives (ie, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation)--and the man should be able to do what he wants with his money. It's HIS money.
PS-Pretty sure your math is screwed up, there.

What if you worked for 8 hours in one day and then had to give 7 friends one hour of pay each, simply because they did nothing?
Well you talk the talk, so just send my unearned check in the mail would ya.
It's not greed. It's pride.
Good luck.

Anything worth having is not given to us, money is only a necessary evil. Who would give everybody on earth free evil? Somebody we don't want anything from, that's who...
