That's very true - many times, I want to e-mail someone because I find their answers on YA to be very interesting, intelligent, kind, heartwarming and then I see on their profile they do not allow e-mail - what a letdown!
I don't know why, but I guess it may have to do with some kind of privacy issues or bad experiences or maybe they just don't have time for e-mails.

I agree with the other poster. with so much identity theft one can't be too careful. You may not be interested in assuming anyone else's identity and causing all kinds of trouble but there are so many low lifes out there who've made it their career to do just that.
One way to share with folks is to join a group. I belong to a couple and I tell you there's nothing like it. It's not only a lot of fun but you learn a lot and it's a great source of support.

Usually when there is no e-mail it is a fake account they got to ask embarrassing or controversial questions. They probably dont want to discuss it.

Don't take it personally, perhaps they have been hurt doing emails back and forth with someone, or maybe they just want to protect their identity.
