Remember, Carter was fighting a conservative administration. When the hostages were taken in Iran, Carter did everything he could to try and get them back, but due to CIA influence, the terrorists refused to even negotiate. When Carter sent a copter in to rescue them, amazingly it crashed. One week after Carter was voted out, the hostages were surprisingly released. Is that tainted, or what?

So Bush Sr caused the crash? Right, OK
The hostages were released the on Reagan's inauguration, the reason being was mainly to further embarrass the Carter Administration, but maybe a bit of fear from the Reagan Administration retaliation
While the hostage crisis certainty hurt Carter's attempt at reelection, it wasn't the only factor, namely the economy at the time.
Besides the Iranians, of course, the people who caused more problems were our allies, that refused to pull their diplomats from Iran after the hostages were taken.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. There were many things that led to the release of the hostages. And Carter lost the election in November 1980, and the hostages were released in January, 1981. Read here:
The death of the Shah on July 27 and the invasion of Iran by Iraq in September, 1980 made Iran more receptive to resolve the hostage crisis, while Carter lost the November 1980 presidential election in a landslide to Ronald Reagan. Shortly after the election, but before the inauguration of President Reagan, the Carter administration, with the assistance of intermediaries such as Algerian diplomat Abdulkarim Ghuraib, opened fruitful negotiations between the U.S. and Iran. This resulted in the "Algiers Accords" of January 19, 1981, committing Iran to free the hostages immediately. Essential to the Algiers Accords and reportedly a non-negotiable requirement of Iran that the Carter Administration reluctantly conceded was Point I: Non-Intervention in Iranian Affairs. It reads "The United States pledges that it is and from now on will be the policy of the United States not to intervene, directly or indirectly, politically or militarily, in Iran's internal affairs." Other provisions of the Algiers Accords were the unfreezing of 8 billion dollars worth of Iranian assets and immunity from lawsuits Iran might have faced. On January 20, 1981, twenty minutes after President Reagan's inaugural address, the hostages were formally released into U.S. custody, having spent 444 days in captivity. The hostages were flown to Algeria as a symbolic gesture for the help of that government in resolving the crisis, where former President Carter, acting as an emissary for the Reagan administration, received them. The flight continued to Rhein-Main Air Base in West Germany. After medical check-ups and debriefings they took a second flight to Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York and a bus ride to the United States Military Academy, receiving a hero's welcome all along the route.
So Carter did lose the election due to this hostage situation, the economy was in the crapper, and the negative public opinion, but his administration worked until the end to resolve it.

Nixon! Carter became a reliable hearted guy and became chewed up and out DC. Clinton had the most exciting as president. Obama's attempting to be yet another Nixon yet he's no longer smart adequate. Reagan presented the Soviet Union down. And Ford, because it grew to develop into out, became the right guy for the interest. And, believe it or no longer, both timber had fairly some in the back of-the-scenes liberal help.

I'm failing to see the Bush Sr. link. I can only assume that there is some insidious and tenuous business connection that has helped your revisionist bent.
I cannot imagine what it must be like to live with a consuming distrust of corporations and money.

And do you know that Oliver North (whose name comes up in Iran-Contra) was part of the support crew at Desert Two (which was located 50 miles from Teheran and the final staging point before the rescue).
Rather interesting, eh?
