I have had a caloric stove for 15 years, and it stopped working. I need a new stove. I need the best stove that you can get for around $1000- $1500. What is the best refrigerator that you can get for around the same price, please also give me the brand.

Kitchen Aide is the higher priced (and maybe better quality?) of the Whirpool line. Another thought is the GE Profile series. I see it in friends' home that can't quit afford the super expensive stuff like Dacor or Viking.

Bosch was uttered by a friend who designs professional kitchens when I asked about dishwashers. Not that you are interested in them.

I have no clue about the LP or whatever it is at the big box stores.

Sears brand, Kenmore is Whirlpool. So many different brands are actually made by just a few major builders these days. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I have been in the appliance repair business for over 20 yrs now. One thing i have come to realize is the units that have all the fancy gizmo's on them are the ones that cause you the most headache... Get a consumers report magazine and compare the different brands, and the repair ratios they have... Another thing I would recommend is to really look at the warranty and buy an appliance with the best warranty...

For a stove try www.peerlesspremier.com they've been around 96 years quietly building quality ranges. I think you'll be impressed. For refrigerators, Amana has built a real reputation for quality and convenience. www.amana.com. Hope this helps.
