Hi, we are TTC another baby...I will be out of town starting tommorrow morning for about a week....we had sex today which is day 6...what are the chances of getting prego this month? My cycle is 28 days and I seem to be like clockwork with ovulating, meaning like on day 14 I ovulate.

If you are on day 6 and will be out of town for 7 days, then when you return, you will be on day 13 or so; I would suggest BD'ing at that time. While it is not impossible, it is unlikely to have concieved now, on day 6.

Good luck, hugs and babydust!

Best time to conceive is 2-3 days before ovulation. You probably ovulate on day 14 which is average for a 28 day cycle. You could still get pregnant but chances arent as high if you try again in a week.. Good Luck

Well lets do the math, assuming you KNOW your cycle and you ovulate on day 14: You had sex on day six and you are leaving tomorrow (day seven) for a week (day fourteen). You still have a small chance of getting pregnant assuming you know for sure you ovulate exactly on day 14 and you have sex before you ovulate that day.

See...the egg is looking for sperm WAITING in a certian section of the fallopian tube. The sperm in the fallopian tube is actually given a chemical coating by the body-kind of like a first come first serve priority!!! You want that sperm to have the coating, therfore you want to have sex before the egg travels to that spot.

The best thing to do is to buy and OPK (ovulation predictor kit). Sperm can live up to five days in healthy cervical fluid which means that having sex up to five days BEFORE you ovulate.

I recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. You will be able to master and understand your own fertility cycles and the best days for you to conceive. Good luck.
