Okay (folks above), who appear to be mostly for the Death Penalty ...

Just a thought here ...

If only one innocent person (your child, friend, co-worker, brother/sister/mother/father etc) is WRONGLY convicted of a crime deserving the Death Penalty, it is still right?

Jury's have been proven to be wrong in their decision many, many times! Some of you compare money to the value of human life! This is wrong! Money is a concept! Life is a proven fact and it is not ours to take!

It is my humble belief that most intelligent people are against the Death Penalty. Do not misunderstand me - I am not suggesting that everyone who in not "Smarter than the average bear" sides with the Death Penalty! That would be un-true!

The concept of taking anothers life due to a commited crime is wrong (IMHO)!

The death penalty should be used more often! People who senselessly destroy the lives of other human beings should receive the ultimate punishment for their actions. Cold blooded killers, rapists and other violent criminals don't want rehabilitation -- the power trip is too great. Why should tax payers shell out their hard earned dollars to keep these monsters alive? It's much cheaper to end their existence than it is to make sure they are fed, have medical care, and can pursue higher education for being a complete waste of skin.

I support the death penalty only because I believe certain people who arent able to be rehabilitated, should not be able to be a constant potential threat to the lives of innocent people, and there is no point in clogging up prisons with people who are never leaving. Infact the whole prison system needs an overhaul. I think prisons should serve as rehab centers and people should come out of prison as better people rather than repeat offenders.

death sentences should be ablolished. It costs more money to have a person on death row than to keep him in prison for life....because of all the appeals and legal fees spent while trying to save his life. many innocent people have been on death row. It's murder and murdering someone is wrong period. I wonder how the guy sleeps at night who is pulling the switch. To prevent murderers from committing more crimes in prison the "faint hope clause" ensures the convict will behave because he thinks he may just have a chance on one day being released, this clause protects other convicts and gaurds. We should be a civilized society by now you would think, but keeping the death penalty shows we have not come very far.

Captiol Punishment is a tradition that origonated in the Bible, directly from God. Think about it. If sombody did something unspeakable to your daughter or son then you would be all for the death penalty. people that are agenst the death penalty are, in my opinion WRONG. The dath penalty is also a deterent. If it didnt esist then there would be alot more inosent people killed.
my opinion......

I am for the Death penalty and would like to see them speed up the process. they should allow 30 minutes for the condemned to appeal to the judge who sentenced them and when they finish the Bailiff should push the plunger. You can see i not only support the appeals process (so long as they follow my guide lines) and i believe they should use lethal injection because it is a humane way to kill someone. I also believe they should put the needle in the persons arm as soon as the jury reaches a verdict, if guilty then time the 15 minute for appeal and have the Bailiff proceed when the judge denies the Appeal.

What is wrong with the death penalty. It is nothing more than a after birth abortion. What is the difference?
The reason for it should be for any one who goes to jail and is convicted for any crime. jails empty and I can lay very high odds the crime rate would fall sharply.
Then we could once again live in and expect a peaceful life.

People, like myself, who realize that all these crazy, psycho murderers who sit in jail are wasting tax payer money..and they enjoy what they've done! There are some people on this Earth who shouldn't be. I'm not saying that every criminal deserves to die, there are always exceptions, but sometimes, it's the just punishment. And I'm neither an old rich person, a bush supporter, or a republican. I'm a liberal, but those are mine and many other beliefs.

I support the Death Penalty..........
I don't buy the crap that a life is "precious", tell that to the mice that are fed to the pet Python.....
Look, in the big picture we are all just matter, just because humans can think and have opposable thumbs does not put us above nature.
If you murder, rape steal etc... you CANNOT ask for mercy from nature or fellow humans.
Some people are alive simply because it is against the law to kill them........

I am for it. The reason is this: I think if you murder someone or commit a capitol crime you should die and not drain the economy by imprisoning and keeping you alive. Also too many who are given life in prison seem to get out for reasons like overcrowding or people simply being de-sensetized by crime and violence. Like one guy might kill someone and do 15yrs of a 50 yr. sentence, but it seems people only condone death if you kill 10 or more people in some extremely gruesome manner. I think murder is murder and they should all be put to death. just me.
