U could do a comparative analysis of the fat content of your cafeteria foods. Using a fixed mass of each food, extract the fat by mixing with petroleum ether, filtering and collecting the filtrate then heating to drive off the solvent. U could then find the mass of fat that remains (of course you would nned to know the weight of the empty beaker etc bofore anything ws added). Do your percentages, graphs etc. and you are good to go.

What about testing the pH levels of water and their effect on growth.
Use a filtered water with pH as close to 7 as you can get as your control.
Combine water from the same source with an acid and a base to alter their pH levels.
Ensure all plants recieve the same amount of light and see how they grow.

You might also try experiments in Chromotography.

use elemental sulfur
place it in a glass container with a rose bloom and ignite it the sulfur.

you'll want to use a metal or glass container for the sulfur

let the sulfur smoke fill the container.....wait a few moments..rose bloom turns white!

use a container that can be sealed, like an aguarium with a piece of plexiglass placed on top.

do your research, and explain what causes the sulfur bleaching of the rose bloom.
collect trophy hehe!
