The United States is large enough to cover several different time zones. There are four in the continental US - Eastern time, Central time (where I am), Mountain time and Pacific time. Throw in Alaska and Hawaii and there are six different answers I could give to that.
Right now, it's 7:49 PM in Texas. Add an hour for the East Coast, go back two hours for the West Coast, go back about five for Hawaii. So - somewhere between 2:49 PM and 8:49 PM, depending on where you are.

There are a lot of time zones, because the US spreads out over a great amount of land, as you can tell just by looking in the map.

That time is it? Oh, there are so many answers!! "It's Miller time!" "It's 5:00 somewhere!" "Tooth-hurtie: time to see your dentist." "What time is it when an elephant steps on your car? Time to get a new car." Sorry, I just couldn't resist!
