Your argument is true, but isn't it great that we have a community where we can work together and get answers? A lot of times when I type an issue into a search bar, I can get up to 10 different results for one symptom. Not only that, but when you call a place of business for an issue about a pet or your health, they plainly state that you'll have to come in and pay to find out what's wrong. It might be so minor that it isn't neccessary. It's comforting to know that I have family-orientated,etc. people that might have had the EXACT same issue or something VERY similar who can answer my questions. On the otherhand, they could point us in the right direction, give us an open mind to more possibillities, and giving us the feeling of security that we are not alone. Most frequently, we are stress monkeys. We don't always think of the most logical solution during times of worry, heartache, or other troubles, etc. Hope that helps! And besides, this is a great place for people that are genuinely in love with helping other people and it's great discovering answers that we might need to depend on later if a situation should arise.

Well, you're asking an obvious question now, aren't you? You're asking us why we bother answering such obvious questions? Because we have already researched them, and we want to see what other people think, or whether or not they researched it, or whether or not they know the answer. Because some people just like to hear other peoples' opinions, and are interested in what they think. it's called curiosity. If you really had to ask your own obvious question, the one I'm answering now, then maybe YOU should have researched it on webmd.com, or any other scientific myth or fact site, that could explain to you why peoples' brains are so intent on answering such obvious questions, and is there a way to change the way they think. But all I know is, you have no sense of feeling or curiosity whatsoever, and the only reason that I am answering this question, is to prove you wrong.

I often wonder the same thing. I've earned most of my points answering questions that I have looked up on Yahoo! Search or www.Google.com. Pretty simple.
I'd hate to suggest that people are lazy, but I can't think of a better answer....maybe people are too intimidated by search engines because of all the the results they have to search threw to get the "correct" answer.
Or maybe they'd rather get more of an opinion of people.
Just my two cents!

You would have to ask them why. I can only guess so that's what I'll do. If somebody gives you a wrong answer & bad things come of the way you use it then it's the other person / people that are at fault not the asker.

People ask obvious questions because they don't want the person who answered it to think too hard.
Peoople ask questions here for the same reasons you did. They are too lazy to research it and it is easier to ask it on here.
That was an obvious question.

Laziness. It takes a little work having to look for the correct answer on your own compared to throwing the question out and having others do the work. I guess you could call it welfare for the mentally challenged.

I bet you could find the answer to your question on the internet!!
Just kidding...
It's for the social interaction. It's fun getting answers to questions, getting reactions from people, finding out what others think.

I think you have a good question here as I have thought the same thing. Plus you have to take someone else's word as the answer sometimes rather than finding it yourself.

we r lazy, it is easier to spend 5 min. and get an immediate answer, then to seach through tons of other sites
if all questions were researched, then there would be for the most part: no yahoo answers
