put your X somewhere else... and tell everyone who'll listen just how pathetic they are. write to your local paper..and make your observations official. write to the leader of the council, and have it raised at the next council meeting..have it minuted and demand a written response. (as is your right).
i live in coventry..our wonderful council just spent bazillions on knocking down a local landmark and building a clock.... theyve just had a massive overspend, and now are taking the 3 quid a week off special needs people...and charging disabled people to park at the new super hospital... but thats what happens when we get a conservative council... the rich and the greedy always come before the poor and the needy...

The local government ombudsman handle complaints about councillors and councils who fail to comply with service expectations - they are really good to! I wasn't expecting much and they kicked butt on our case - ! The councils have to respond to the LGO within 28 days with either a resolution or explanation and if not the LGO investigate, suggest the way forward etc..

At the next local council elections don't vote for them. Vote for someone else who will do the same as soon as they get a sniff of power.
Councils get audited by central government who are the biggest bunch of self serving crooks around.
So what can you do...nothing basically. Move somewhere else where they do the same.

Demonstrate regularly at the Town Hall with specific reasons...But first consider why they're useless...It's cos we are all too busy trying to survive that we have no time to organise, other than to communicate on sites such as this..and don't forget it's national governments that dictate the economic treadmill...Read 'Willing Slaves'.
But this may well be the start we need...

Is there anywhere in the country without this problem!
It doesn't matter WHO is in charge, they're all alike!
You could try writing to the Goverment via your MP and get others to do the same!

Vote them out! Join the party most likely to get them out and vote against the one (LAbour I don't doubt) that is the problem.

Vote them out or stand yourself if you think you can do better, but if you do, beware of the FREE lunch it is very tempting, then you simply become one of them you complain about.
