Is it because there is no oil = are we all so callous or cowardly?
The two "Yos" aren't in a race to save Zimbabwe are they?

I believe an economic calculation has been made. Unfortunately the investment made by us the Brits would not be supported by the US nor the UN. Therefore for us to send in a land force and police the country would just not be viable financially (and yes you are correct this is probably because they do not have oil).
I believe the only reason that the US and UK went to Kosovo was because Albania was the last bastion of communism in Europe. With Zimbabwe it is just another despotic leader threatening only his people. Our specialist forces are also heavily deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan and we just do not have the man-power to uphold something that would probably be seen as an ongoing problem.

Because they'll do anything they can to stop white oppression of minorities, but God forbid that a thug like Mugabe, and that's all he is, get reprimanded by the UN, when he's essentially destroyed Zimbabwe's economy and reputation as the "bread basket of Africa."

African politics is a complicated beast and to make sure that the UN isn't seen to fail it avoids getting involved in anything that has a chance of failure for them.

The UN is a weak talking shop with no power to do anything about anything important. That's why the US ignore it whenever it interests them and are allowed to get away with it. It's about the only thing I agree with that the US do.

It's supposed to be a democracy ie Robert gets voted in. And Zim minds its own business - it doesn't interfere with anyone else. It's also a Black country, which means its "special" - is it politically correct to step in?
And of course, South Africa supports its government to a large extent.

The people in each country must decide their own fate or politics regardless of the outcome.
"You get the government you deserve"
It is time the UN, USA, UK stopped interfering in other countries affairs.
Look at what we have got for doing just that.
