I absolutely hate it when I get paired with someone who never shows. My sympathies.
A one-person skit would be a monologue, unless you want to perform a portion of a one-person play (I am My Own Wife is a good one, I've heard), but that would be extremely difficult. So let's say you're doing a monologue.
Monologue books are obviously good sources of monologues, but make sure that the monologues that are in them are from real plays, not just monologues that are written purely for monologuing ("The Phone Call" and "The First Date" are popular examples of that sort of monologue). My favorite dramatic monologue is from The Miracle Worker, by William Gibson.
You can also look up "comedic monologues" or "dramatic monologues" on google.
Good luck with that.

a one person skit would be a monologue. google "monologue" and you'll get a ton of results. also, check out your local bookstore. there are a TON of monologue books out there. some monologue books contain monologues from published plays, and others have only monologues that were written up by the author. I reccomend the published play ones.

break a leg!

Since your acting teacher is aware that your skit partner "never shows", ask your teacher to assign a responsible partner to you. He/she should be bright enough to have made that decision.
