basically, are the olsen twins (mary-kate and ashley) identical twins or ferthernal?

I was wondering that too. I thought they were identical but as the years go on they look different from each other. Turns out they are fraternal twins.

They are indeed fraternal. One is taller than the other and they have different voices.
As a side note, its not uncommon for identical twins to be exact reverse blueprints of each other. There are many instances where their fingerprints are identical but in a reversed pattern and sometimes as mentioned that one can be left handed while the other is right handed. There are also some rare cases, where the internal organs are exactly on opposite sides of the body and their digestive tract goes in an exact mirrored path.

Although many people think that the Olsen twins are Identical because they look so much alike, they are actually Fraternal twins. They were born from two separate eggs rather than one shared egg when they were conceived.

They are fraternal. Ashley is not only taller than Mary-Kate, she is also right-handed. While Mary-Kate is left-handed. Yes they do look alike, but that has nothing to do with being identical. Many siblings look the same, even though they can be years apart. They are born to the same parents, so obviously they will look a like.

They are fraternal but they look alot alike, one is right handed and one is left which means they are not identical. I saw this on a bio once.
