it's sweet. I dont have one but i have used them and i am going to get one. If you are looking for a harddrive mp3/video player zune is great. Ipods are all the rage but i don't think they live up to the hype. The zune has a bigger screen than the ipod, personaly i do not like itunes or the restrictions and format issues that comes with an ipod. The only thing about the ipod is that it is slightly thinner. The wifi sharing on the zune seems pretty cool but there should be more things that you can do with the wifi. for example connecting to a 360 or even your computer. Perhaps in the future.

Well I heard it got bad reviews.
I can compare it to the iPod for you:
It's bigger than the iPod
It comes in more colors than the regular iPod, but less colors than the iPod nano
It can wirelessly share your music with another Zune, but the other person can only play the song three times (even if they don't play it the whole way through), after that they must buy the song
It cannot play songs purchased through the iTunes Store unless you burn them to CDs and then re-import them, but there is a separate music store just for Zune
The music store for Zune requires you to purchase "points" to get songs. While you purchase points in increments of $5 and each song is still $1, they say that one song is "79 points" to make it seem cheaper
There was an article about Zune that I found really helpful in the Wall Street Journal. If you want to read it online, you can only read the first paragraph or so unless you pay for it, but it only costs $5. I put the article in the sources list because the link is too big to put here.
Good luck mp3 player shopping!

The Zune only works with PCs only and uses propriety software, which means it's just as restricted as the iPod. Maybe even more so, since there is a lot more content available for the iPod.
I have an iPod which fulfills all my needs, but all I ever use is a Mac.
Zune's WiFi capabilities allow sending music and photos wirelessly to other zunes, but the songs will only be available for three plays or for three days, whichever comes first. While music and photos can be easily swapped, video cannot be transferred.
Sandisk is probably the best deal because it is cheap and there are no restrictions on the content added to it. However, the interface software makes you work a little harder to add all the music to it.

I would wait until some of the bugs are fixed in it. Generation 2 or 3 will be a lot better. The look like they will be great, but not the current model.

It's Microsoft's answer to the iPod, and I heard about it for the first time today.
