With a doppler, you can hear the baby's heartbeat as early as 8 weeks. With just a regular stethocope....there's many things that factor in :: how small of a person the mother is, the position of the baby, and even the quality of the stethoscope. I never had any luck finding my baby's heartbeat with just a stethocope. And that was even with a Littmans Cardio stethoscope (one of the best!!). I think I have heard other women say that it is around 26-28 weeks when they have heard it for themselves. It's usually heard best if the baby has it's back to your abdomen. Hope this helps!!

You can usually see a heartbeat over ultrasound after 8-9 wks. Its usually around week 14-16 you can hear a regular rhythm. You can try a stethoscope or you can even rent a doppler (heartbeat monitor) for a small fee with gel included. You can find out about it through your local doctor if interested.

As it's been said, anywhere from 20 weeks onward you have the chance of being able to pick up the baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope. Not always but it is possible.

You can rent fetal dopplers. If you're really interested.

You can hear it. I think I heard it at three months, It was awesome. Sometimes it is harder to hear than others. It is the most beautiful thing. It makes it feel real. Congrats on being pregnant. Have a healthy baby.

a babies heart beat usually isnt strong enough to be heard throw a stethiscope until ~17 wks....

but depending on how much fat or other problems, it could take longer, which is why most doctors use the doppler to create an "artificial" heart beat, which is basically an ultrasound, picking up the movements of the heart...

hope this helps

Possible but really really hard, I heard mine at almost 25 weeks, and what makes it harder is that your baby moves around alot so you can hear it for one second and the next second it's gone!

It's not until about the 7th or 8th month I believe. My husband never could though, I guess we didn't know exactly where to be looking though, I think you have to be pretty accurate.
