According to what I read on Wilki below, getting in trouble with the law may be the reason his stalled.

In 2004, Patric was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Austin, Texas and was involved in a physical confrontation with the arresting officer. Patric claimed the charges were false and that the officer assaulted him. The prosecuting attorney's office later dropped the charges, which included assault on a police officer. He subsequently sued the arresting officer for violating his civil rights, but the officer was acquitted by a federal jury.
Johnathon Schaech -
Although his acting career seems to have been put on hold, he has started a film company called Chesapeake, so he hasn't exactly "stalled out".

Bad choices in acting assignments, a failure to push themselves harder in their craft, lack of real exposure, there are lots of little reasons for that
