This is probably really normal. As others have asked, it could be a determinant of your age. If you feel stressed or anxious about this, then see a doctor you trust for reassurance. Various activities in life can affect your period, such as vigorous sporting or atheletic activities, and stress.

To give you my story, I started by period at the age of 14 and it was NEVER predictable or normal. I went on the pill at 18, simply because after 4 years, I still did not have a regular pattern. When I was 22, I stopped having periods for 9 months, yet there was no possibility of pregnancy. After a series of tests, it was finally determined that this was normal for me. I am now 30, and my period is still only regulated by taking the pill. While this is not 'normal' in the big scale of things, it is normal for me.

First I would probably take a home pregnancy test. Unless you can say WITHOUT A DOUBT that you have not only not had intercourse but have never done any heavy "petting" with your clothes off.
Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective sperm are very hardy and if they even get close to a vagina and there are any fluid for them to stay in, his or yours, they can find their way to your fallopian tubes. And as they say, the rest is history.

You would not be the first girl this has happened to nor would you be the last.
On the other hand if you verify you are not pregnant, then you could have skipped your period just because you are upset about the breakup or school or whatever else.
If you are not pregnant and you don't get a period by around Dec 10 then I would go to the Dr. As a matter of fact you should probably call now and schedule the appointment for then. You can cancel if you don't need to go afterall but you won't have to wait any longer to get in if you need to.
I hope everything is well.
K

Like the others have stated--please see a doctor.

If you are very young--maybe you are not on a regular schedule. It may be stress.

If you are older--maybe you are going through menopause, which can can start early. (Well, 17 years--not this one.)

If you lost a lot of weight or doing a lot of exercising, it can impact your schedule.

Please see a doctor. Don't mess with your health.

See a doctor.
