It really depends upon your budget. You might look in the local newspaper or if your parents are willing to help in the search go to google and search for "used laptops" or "refurbished laptops". The online sites often offer less expensive options than local sites. My son is in 8th grade and all you need to browse the web is 128MB of RAM and an older P3 or even a P2 laptop. I'm not sure what the issue is with your existing desktop. If you are on a modem, then the issue is more the speed of your link to Internet than the computer itself.

The Friday after Thanksgiving is often refer to as "Black Friday." The day in which retailers slash prices to attract shoppers. Here is the link to the "official" Black Friday websites: http://www.blackfriday.info/
Click on the store's logo for items which will be on sale. I suggest taking a look at: Staples, Circuit City and CompUSA. There are other stores which offer deals on notebooks but they have been criticized for poor customer service (e.g. Best Buy). Hopefully, there will be a store(s) close to you where you can find what you are looking for.

in case you purely favor it for digital mail, internet, be conscious processing, and so on, than any low priced computing device will be high quality. yet even as it includes low priced laptops, i'd make investments the better $50 in a protracted assure, in case you pay decrease than $1000 for a computing device, you'll favor it. in case you pick to do stuff which includes gaming or video modifying, ain't gonna take position. low priced laptops lack the processing ability to handle such heavy initiatives.
