You can go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup, and run that, choosing everything. Then open IE and click Tools at the top and choose Internet Options and on the General Tab, choose to delete cookies and history. Temp Internet Files were deleted with Disk Cleanup. This however will not produce much space.

To get real space, you must save your photos, videos, mp3's, and other such files to another storage medium, such as a cd-r. So put a blank cd-r in your drive, select about 699 mb of files and burn them to the cd. Then you can delete the files you burned to cd from your hard drive, and you can always access them again by putting the cd in the drive.

I might add that you should defragment your disk after doing all this deleting and copying. Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter. This will increase the speed of your computer by making your files less scattered about.

Go to Control Panel then add/remove programs, and remove some that you don't usually use anymore.

After this,

Go to Program Files>Accessories>System Tools

Then do the following ONE at a TIME.

first, Defragment drive C: wait for it to finish, this is usually quick.
next, use Disc Clean Up and choose files that you don't need to save.

Do this regularly, and your Drive C will be cleaner than before, and will be clean as it can be.

Download CCleaner and use it.

Look for Duplicate files and delete the extras.
Hard Drives are cheap right now. Add a BIG D Drive and install programs/keep files on that drive.
