In vitro fertilisation, basically egg and sperm are mixed in a test tube and allowed to fertilise before being implanted.

That is In-Vitro Fertilization. It is where a woman's eggs that are "harvested" and a man's sperm, which is released in a sample are combined in a petri dish. Once they believe that the eggs have been fertilized, or have a good chance of it, they are placed into the woman's Uteris for them to latch onto so that she can carry the child. It has a pretty high success rate with women that cannot conceive naturally. Not too high risk either.

IVF is "in-vitro fertilization." It literally means fertilizing in glass, referring to the process of fertilizing eggs with sperm in a Petri dish. The resulting embryos are introduced into the woman's uterus in the hope of enabling her to become pregnant.

in vitro fertilization. It is where the man's sperm is mixed with the women's egg in a test tube and then it is implanted back into the women's uterus and hopefully results in a viable pregnancy.

IVF could also refer to Intra Venous Fluids. Depends on how and by whom it's used.
