It appeals to younger children (i think it mainly appeals to girls) But since you are older you like different movies.
I think the age range for High School Musical it like ages 6-12

I TOTALLY agree. They're making shirts and backpacks and purses and shoes with that logo on it. My friend's sis (she's 10) wanted to go out and buy the dvd and the backpack! I watched it and I thought it was totally lame! I think people like it so much because they think the guy in it is hot, I don't though. I think he looks childish and ugly. Anyway, now I'm ranting too.

I'm 30- don't think it's overrated; look at what's available for kids
to watch- most of it has sexual innuendo and wee-poo-bum jokes; I thought it was kinda wholesome and sweet; I'd much rather my kids watched it than w.i.t.c.h. or degrassi -next gen, or some of those other junky shows that tv is passing off as kids shows. As it is, they ain't allowed to watch all that so I though HSM made a good one-off family type movie.

i've got consistently concept it became rather imature! it is so stupid!!!!!!!! it rather is made for sons and daughters, comparable with Hannah Montana, yet youngsters watch it!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! besides, i can not have self assurance that the 0.33 is in THEATERS! and that i observed previews, apparently like there are some teenagers in the flicks that act like somewhat some the main characters and stick to them around, I guess there'll make a fourth and it will likely be those new teenagers' journey via all 4 years of highschool, and then many times. WILL IT EVER supply up!?!?!?!?!?!?!

it sucked. they just think zac is hot. they also have really bad singers, they just choose the people for looks, i'd say. Also, i actually did hate the plot..."a basketball guy cant sing! you have to stay in social groups!" "NO! i will follow my dream and sing!" oh, what do you know? they win! didnt see that coming! >.<
you know, you never DID get to see the musical...
i cant believe theyre making a second one too!!!!!
now THIS is a rant!

its overrated becuase its not like that would ever happen in true life. but hey it is on disney. and the special and differant thing connects to the fact that they are trying to tell people that its ok to be differant but your still like everyone else. I do think it is corny though!

Of course you may think its corny, I think so too. But disney channel targets young people ages 5 and up. Its corny because they sing and dance way too much.
