Love my Oz rock - Chisel, INXS (back in MH's day), Powder Finger, Aussie Crawl, Hoodoo Gurus, Hunters & Collectors, all the good stuff
Fave rock band - Live, Chilli Peppers (old stuff), Powder Finger, Pearl Jam (old stuff), Queen, Stones, oh crap I'm feeling old....
Fave band of all time - too hard to call - I really like everything from Mozart to Metallica

for Australian, hands down, it's The Saints.
By which I mean early, 76-78. The double CD "Wild About You" has all of their punk stuff, before the lineup changed and they got poppy. I can hear in their music so much of what was going in the US & England, but also what would happen years later (like w/ Bad Religion in LA). And current bands like The Hives? The Hives even cover a Saints song "Perfect Day".
Favorite rock band: yeah right, like I can choose. NYDolls, The Fall, The Damned, The Replacements, Built to Spill, Califone. ANd that's leaving a ton out. The Pogues. There can't be just one. White Stripes. Gawd. I'll stop there.
The Beatles though are probably my all time favorite, because I started listening to them very early on and that influenced all of my other tastes from then on. And I end up really liking bands like Built to Spill and Crowded House, where you can hear the Beatles influence (at least sometimes).
