I'm writing a paper about illegal immigrants and economic sustainability. I am approaching them as necessary --do you agree with me? If not, do you have any factual evidence to disagree?

Illegal immigrants work jobs American once worked for a better wage. It's not that illegal immigrants work 'jobs Americans won't work', but, they work jobs Americans cannot work for such low wages. If those producers would pay Americans a decent wage, they would work those jobs. We should not have to compete with third world wages in our country, against people who should not even be in this country to compete with us to begin with. They are here 'illegally'. Because of their low wages and large families, they then qualify for welfare and other taxpaid (by Americans) federal assistance programs. Because of their LOW wages they pay little or no taxes (not putting into the federal coffers), yet benefit from those taxes paid by Americans. They use more Federally funded, tax-paid assistance than they are paying in. They spend less in the USA and regularly send money OUT of the USA INTO their homelands to their families THERE. That revenue is LOST for the USA, forever. By working for less, they cause the wages of Americans to be depressed. Businessmen will hire an illegal immigrant for less than an American, so the American must lower his standard of living in order to survive. He must take that low paying third world pay.

If Americans held those same jobs for a better wage, they would be paying taxes, would get less welfare (if any), would be spending those earned dollars IN the USA, putting those dollars back INTO our country's economy. Helping our economy, not reducing.

If the USA continues to allow illegal immigrants to enter our country and depress the wages of Americans. We will become a third world country, because we will be living on a third world income.

Immigation (all) is another HUGE issue. We have too many people immigrating into the USA. In 1965 we allowed only 200,000 people per year to immigrate here. Now we have 800,000+ people immigrating here per year. Our natural resources are being depleted, our schools are overcrowded, our water sanitation plants cannot keep up with the growing population. Those immigrants along with the natural born citizens will multiply, deaths will not make up for the population increase. Our waterways are already becoming filthy, our farmlands are being reduced, we have urban sprawl everywhere, congestion, forests dwindling. How much worse will it be in 25 years when the population doubles again? California, TODAY, must build one elementary school every DAY to keep up with the population in that state ALONE! We MUST reduce our immigration NUMBERS back to the numbers allowed in 1965 in order to get the population to a managable level. It will still be difficult to provide for even THAT number but that is the BEST we can do. (watch the video below)

$24.5 Billion sent to Mexico!! (see the websites below)

No direct evidence. However, when you consider that illegal immigrants do take money out of the economy in several ways that are not returned, it would seem likely the economy would at least stay the same if not improve. While the actual numbers of non-taxpaying illegal immigrants is not certain there is a large number of them using services such as medical care and education. Those services have to be paid for through higher fees and taxation. Were those fees reduced small employers might be better able to expand their business interests thereby employing more at better wages. I believe that if wages could be increased for labor that more people would be willing to do the work thereby increasing employment and decreasing tax burdens on the employed.

In addition to that is the steady drain of dollars sent to foriegn countries by illegal immigrants. We can only guess at those numbers but it is a significant drain on the economy.

The next is the cost of legal activities including border patrol, courts and deportation actions. These are all things that must be included in the issue. Reasonably, you should also include all other costs such as increased crime rate.

To date, to the best of my knowledge, nobody has done a comprehensive and unbiased evaluation of the fiscal impact of illegal immigration but it seems that it is very high.

Let us assume that illegals have been making their way into the U.S. since 1776. Did the U.S. survive this lengthy period of border jumpers? Of course, but, with populations increasing year to year I'm certain that the numbers of illegals entering the U.S. annually has gone up in numbers over the years. If this trend continues, is it to be expected that the time will come when the illegals that enter the U.S. some year will exceed the number of U.S. citizens born that year? When that point is reached the economy will have long ago lost it's sustainability. Overwhelming numbers of anything are bound to have an effect on life in the U.S. If 799 quadzillion coconuts rolled across the border all at once would it have an effect on the United States of America? Como?

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
The Mexican illegals i work with, most are single, bring home more at TAX time than i do... I`m single and no dependants and i get between 3-600 bucks. However they get 3000-6000.00 dollars! I dont care what country they are from but when it comes to MY tax paying dollars then i give a DA**!!!
Our company has finally started the checking of their #`s and will not hire them if they dont match. For those who believe that they are "helping" the economy then they SHOULD "raise" them! No, most of their money goes back home to help their families and is NOT spent here in the US!!
I say DEPORT all illegals whatever country they are from.

curtailing immigration (criminal or otherwise) will cripple small companies. on a similar time as some people do not agree that immigrants do the roles that people do not elect to do, i think of we are in a position to all agree that immigrants will do those menial jobs for plenty much less pay and advantages than people. if your close by mom-and-pop eating place impulsively had to cover a 25% bounce in payroll plus pay greater advantages, they had be out of company desirable away. Immigrant hard artwork (criminal or otherwise) is traditionally the main inexpensive hard artwork you may get. we could desire to maintain a persevering with grant of inexpensive, unskilled workers so as that our small companies could have the money for to stay in company.

Absolutely not. Employers need to raise the minimum wage then Americans would work the jobs they claim only immigrants want. As long as they're here, minimum wage stays low.

Immigrants were not needed in any part of the world. It has all been driven by human needs and ultimately business, economy and entrepreneurship - now its more driven by greed - rich getting richer and poor getting poorer.

No they are a drain on our economy. Our taxes have to pay for their benefits. They help make it the way it is but if there were no illegals it would improve to the way it should be. .

i agree they are necessary.

if we had to pay legal minimum wages to workers in the fields, janitors, construction labor, dishwashers, etc. the base price for everything would rise beyond what the average lower to middle income family could afford. illegals are helping maintain the lifestyle we enjoy in america.
