personally if some one said that to me I'd hit them with that stick what does that even mean it make no sense

It means the person saying this is unarmed in a battle of wits. Be nice to them. Offer them milk and cookies and see if there's an emergency contact pinned to some article of clothing.

It's an old fashioned thing to say, not many people say that anymore. It's meant as a compliment, to say that you're brainy or smart.

it is just saying you more brains. but i don't know really. i think it is a compliment
