Years ago a guy tried to change everything about me on our first date. He didn't like my nickname so he tried to make me use my first name. He tried to redress me. He didn't like my shirt out of my jeans so he tucked it in and he tried to change my hairstyle. He started to tell me how I was going to act and that's when I turned on my heals and walked home. I don't regret it.

When I was 19 I used to go out with a dismal anus that wanted to change almost everything about me. My hair, my clothes, my make up (once he even resorted to doing it for me! and badly, might I add), complained my **** were too big, I wasn't allowed to talk to certain people, blah blah blah. 'Did this boy not have his eyes and ears open when he met me, and for the past X months?' I thought. We broke up and I can honestly say it was the singular best thing that has ever happened to me. If only because after him I appreciated all my other boyfriends for not being so stupid and crass. I am so ashamed I was ever with him, and if I saw him today I would deny knowing him. Thats how bad he is.
I would never do this to a man. You either accept someone for who they are or you find someone more suited to you. End of.

I am a painter, I like to get dirty, and I work very hard. I won't change that for anyone. Some guys find me too...independent (?) because I make a decent living in a very difficult career.

I am good at what I do and I'd rather be single than to change a thing.

yes, a guy when i was a teenager wanted me to wear cert in types of clothes and wear my hair a cert in way ! He told me how to act and what to laugh! What music and TV shows I should like!
I was very happy when I left him because when someone tries changes you then you are not the person you really are ! You are a phony ! Unconditional and true love is accepting the person for who they really are!

My boyfriend is always doing things like taking me to waterparks, when he knows I hate swimming and heights (especially combined) or slipping food that I hate into my meals (like chopped up mushroom or prawns) - little things like that.

I don't think it's about 'changing' me so much as it is about power. Usually I just tell him to go to hell and leave me alone!

He wanted to reconvert me back to Islam! no way was that going to happen.... he made me stop clubbing, no more short shorts, or skirts, if my nipples were still visible through the bra and shirt, he freaked and started putting band-aids on them.... he wanted me to stop being friends with all my guy friends, he wanted me to be his sugar momma everytime he was behind on payments of whatever..... he was an asshole..... so I dumbed him...!
