The pregnancy hormone called, "Human Chorionic Gonadotropin", can show small traces as early as 10-14 days after ovulation, enough to turn up a positive test. I've read that most of the symptoms don't appear until the hCG has reached sufficient levels, about 1-2 weeks after you miss your period, 3-4 weeks after ovulation, or 2-3 weeks after implantation. My wife is trying to get pregnant right now and she is using a chart called a basil thermometer, tells you when your best shot is to get pregnant or if you are.

It depends on how often you have your period. If you are pretty regular and then all of a sudden you miss your period, you are most likely positively pregnant. However, if you were looking for more of a tiem frame I would say 4-6 weeks.

If you want an accurate result, you need to wait until the day of your expected period to take a home pregnancy test.
