What can be done if cheekbone is broken?

I was under a shelf taking it down and it fell on my face, by my left eye. It is swollen and purple. If i did go to the doctor, what could they really do?

My friend was hit in the face with a skateboard and thought he broke his cheekbone. He was told prior to xray that if it was broken that he's need a metal plate in his face.

If you seriously think it's broken you should seek immediate medical attention. That is an injury that may require surgery.

My husband also broke his cheek playing football. He had to have it wired with surgery. Good luck!
