I'm a freshman in highschool, and I started wearing make-up in the seventh grade. Back then I would only wear one coat of mascara and a little lip gloss, but ever since then, I've been starting to wear more and more, and now I wear entirely too much for my age. However, now when I start to wear less, I feel a lot less pretty and attractive. How do I wear less and still feel pretty?

The main point of wearing make up is to enhance your beauty. So I tell women to find colors that bring out the color in your eyes. If you have blue eyes blue eyeliner, brown eyes you use brown eyeliner, green eyes you can use green or brown eye liner. Try staying away from the black because it is hard to know how much to put on without looking trashy. Mascara really shows the eyes. Lip gloss is wonderful because it just looks great on a lady. Do not put foundation on because it always looks fake and unreal. Instead you should find a nice face powder that matches your skin tone. You are smart to think of your eyes and your lips because those are what men look at most. Also find a perfume that can be a signature smell for you. Something that smells great and when people smell it they like it and they think of you. You are a pretty woman, you don't need tons of make up to see that. You will look prettier without all the gunk and you will look classier with less.

First of all it appears you started wearing make-up much too young. I've found the older I get, the less war paint I want. Keep your face clean, and moisturized, neutrogena products are great. Consider lining the bottom lids lightly, use a little mascara on top lids, a little lip gloss, and if you feel the need, a light colored eye shadow that will bring your natural eye color out. Just try to stay as natural looking as possible, instead of looking heavy or Gothic.
Remember it's very important to keep the skin Moisturized, and healthy.

Its all in your mind. A girl, that wears too much makeup, is not attractive to most men. I would recommend you start easing up on the use of it. It will be hard for a little while, but as you start using less and less, I think you will get more, and more compliments, and probably, more guys hitting on you. A little bit goes along way. Remember Beauty is skin deep, not 4 layers of mascara deep. If you are not sure send pictures, and I'll give you a real good opinion.

Well, you don't have to wear a lot less, just make it look more natural so it will look less, but still enough to show that you're wearing makeup and so it's a noticeable effect.
Instead of foundation, wear tinted moisturizer. Also, try i.d. Bare Minerals foundation, it's really natural and still covers a lot.
Instead of powder blush, wear cream. It looks like you're naturally blushing and a lot less fake. Try Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse.
When you wear eyeliner, make sure to not put it on past your iris, or you're eyes will look smaller and it will defeat the whole purpose. As you put on eyeshadow, try using cream as well. Unfortunately, sometimes cream eyeshadows crease more than powder, so if you'd prefer powder, that's fine too. Use flattering colors for your eyes, no funky blues, yellows, reds, or oranges. For your lips, you can put on as much as you want, lipliner, lipstick, gloss - just make sure you put it on in a color close to your natural lipcolor, or you could end up looking like a clown. As you start wearing more natural and a little less makeup, you will get used to this feeling and start to feel just as pretty.

I used to sell cosmetics - you know those pink cadillacs? ;-)

So the key to makeup is to not have it look like makeup. First, if you have good skin and no blemishes, you want to keep it, so have a good skin care plan. Wash your face every night before going to bed. NEVER go to bed with make up on your face.
If you have some blemishes and want to cover them, use a light foundation that matches your skin tone.

The biggest mistakes I see young women and girls in high school make is with eye liner. LEAVE THE BLACK liner OFF!. It makes girls look a little too hootchy-like. If you want to wear eye liner, go with a softer colour, that is opposite your eye colour, blue for brown eyed girls,. and brown for blue eyes, NEVER EVER black, unless it's a formal event in the evening.

A little lip gloss, a little mascara, and maybe a tad of blush, and you should be good to go.

Change it up gradually so that people don't know it in a drastic kind of way. Start with less eye stuff, or change up the colours to softer looks, and guess what?

You'll also get at least ten minutes more sleep in the morning too.

Good luck!

When you first started wearing makeup your Mom (or some other female family member) probably said the classic makeup adage. "Less is more." It may sound trite, but its totally the truth. A good way to start wearing less makeup is to focus on your best feature (skin, eyes, lips etc.) Everyone has something unique and beautiful she can emphasize. Focus on that one feature and downplay the rest. Even if you want to do smoky eyes and dark lips at the same time it is legal as long as you keeo the eye colors shimmery and glittery and lip color sheer and glossy. If that doesn't help, try this: wearing less makeup is better for your skin.

well, if you have good clear skin lose the foundation and use just blush and mosturizer. On your eyes, just wear mascara and eyeliner. Use just some gloss or lip tint on your lips. And if you need a lot of makeup to feel pretty, you need to work on your self eestem because makeup is a mask that hides your true beauty.

Im sure you are pretty with or without makeup, but to answer your question: why dont you tone it down a bit? Try clear lip gloss, light eyeshadow, and go back to one coat of mascara. Or just focus on one part to add makeup, like your eyes. You could really play up your eyes with as much makeup as you want (without looking like a raccoon!), but dont use lipstick or blush.

Start by wearing one less item a day. For example if you wear 2 coats of Mascara, top and bottom eyeliner, eyeshadow, lids and under brows. blush . Start by not doing one item a day like, not putting on blush, the changes will be subtle and not alot of people will notice. The gradually dont do one step until you have very little makeup on.

I find that I look alot better when I wear less makeup I look prettier and more natural plus my skin is practically flawless and I get tons of compliments on it.
