George Mikan. 6 Titles with the Lakers. The first true Big Man.
Tough to compare guys from past eras though. Larry Bird is probably the best overall of the modern era.

Someone actually put down JJ Reddick's name??? C'mon, be realistic. The first person everyone thinks of right off the bat is Larry Bird. The man worked hard, played hard, and won championships. He made everyone around him better. I think the one name overlooked a lot is John Stockton. While you have great scorers like Pistol Pete, Larry Bird, and Jerry West you dont always look at the little point guard. And it is hard to compare greats from the past with guys of today, but back in the day of Bird, everyone played better bball and much better team bball, so i have to go with Larry Bird.

Wow, hard one. I'd take Larry Bird as the best. With Jerry West second and John Stockton third. I think that Dirk, Steve Nash, Pistol Pete, Bill Walton, J - Kidd, George Mikan, and Bill Lambeer all deserve some sort of honorable mention.
