This is a good time to think about getting a private lesson teacher. They can analyze why you aren't getting the piece right, and give you tips and ideas to help fix the problem.

Don't get discouraged Becca...I have been a musician for over 50 year's and still play and enjoy it very much...Once you accomplish your instrument, you will have what these two dopes above will never have...Music, for the rest of your life...

Keep working on your scales, I know they can be tedious...they still are as you get older too...However, they hone your talent, speed, agility and confidence, Once that improves, you will automatically learn the composition's easier and more proficiently..You'll even be creating your own...Just like the Pro's do...We all started the same...Some have a little more ability..yes..But some of the greatest player's today, were no protege's when they started...

Like Panda said...."Keep on keeping on", you can do it....All the best and welcome to a world that only a few enjoy... :)...Yuke

Keep playing the same song til you get it right.'Don't
go from one to the other . you can't concentrate if you play too many in one night.
