this may sound whorish, but its not, its a proven ice breaker

get a pony keg a bag of ice and some cups, since you have a balcony you probably live upstairs
knock on a couple doors, ask a cute guy to help you get it upstairs, see if he'll call a few friends to your impromtu "Hi, I'm new to the bldg party"

well, it worked in 1987

I know how you feel...but I also know that sitting at home by yourself is usually worse than doing something about it. Perhaps you're afraid of rejection; I know that I was. Here's a quote from the book "Conversationally Speaking' by Alan Garner: "One 16 year old student of mine named Anna made a personal project of finding out what really happens during a rejection. Like many men and women who greatly fear rejection, she had never really experienced it. Anna started a number of conversations with people she met on the street and began asking students she barely knew to come to a party she was having. Her discovery: No one slugged me or screamed at me or called me names. The worst that happened was that some of the people I tried to talk to didn't respond much and some of the students I invited said no, or accepted and then didn't show up. I don't know what I thought was so 'horrible' about rejection. In fact, no matter what response I got, I felt pretty proud of myself for trying. All in all, I guess I've caused myself far more pain by holding back than I ever would have gotten by being assertive." This quote has inspired me, and I hope it helps you, too. May God bless any relationships that come from your efforts!

What are the people doing that are having fun? Are they around the swimming pool?? Whatever activity they are doing, dress for that activity and then just go to the area and hang out. You will be invited to join in.

Remember, a great way to meet people is to visit the social room - read or something - and help someone every day.

Put on sexy not cheap looking clothing, take out the trash.

Wash your car in short and halter, tub, or wife beater.

Play music with your door open.

Sit outside, smoke a cigar and have a drink where you can be seen. Invite some of your female friends over and you will be surprised at how many of the guys or lesbians will attempt to become friends with you.
