try a drop of wood alcohol on the tip, let it go in the tip for a minute or two, and try it on a scrap paper, if it works try again after four times of this put the cap by on; this should make it work like new

Hi you can probably just dip the end of the marker into a small pool of water for a few seconds or so & get it working again. Chances are the tip dried out and there is still ink in there.

I'm pretty sure that you should dip the tip of the marker in water, but I've only did that with magic markers; I don't know about Sharpies. Good Luck!

If you are too cheap to buy a new one, stick the tip in an ink bottle for a while. The trouble with that is, if you don't have the ink, it will cost you more than another marker.

Actually, you can get a few more uses out of it by dipping it gently in a little water, it'll be a bit runny at first, but it'll bring it back for a little while longer. Of course, a new one is easier to buy.

Take it out to the garage. Spray some carb cleaner on the tip (Xylene, alcohol, acetone, heptane, and other good nasty chemicals) make it as good as new. I do it all the time.
