You probably mean a "cover letter" It's a letter accompanying your resume that describes why you're the best person for the job. It briefly describes your education, background skills and how those things translate into you being the ideal candidate. It's best to keep the cover letter to 1 page. Use correct spelling and grammar and use the BEST quality paper you can afford.

Cover note usually refers to car insurance, which only last for ~1 month.
I've never heard of any other.

i think a cover note is a doctors note to prove to your employer that you've been ill.

The only one I know of is a temporary car insurance certificate which the Ins. co. gives you until they can send you the full proper certificate.
