They sure aren't! And people don't dress half as nice as they use too. I really enjoy watching old movies & especially the way they use to dance & sing. Not like all this crap music they are coming out with. I think they should really try to bring back these types of movies. Romantic movies like the old ones, not just nowadays smut! Simple things are very romantic!

I love that movie and watch it at least 3-4 times every holiday season. And yes you're right movies are not like that anymore- That movie and those of that era had class and glamour.
Think I will watch it for the first time this Friday while I'm pulling out the Christmas decorations
have a great night

Yes we have the tape and we watch it every year at Christmas time. The movies and the people that made them as well as the stars in them of that era were really very good and excellent. That caliber does not exist yet. There are some good stars, but the stories or the Technical staff are not able to coordinate it all. They are still young, perhaps it will come in time. What is amazing that even our children are able to to distinquish the excellence of the "old" movies and stars

What a beautiful, fun, entertaining movie!! Actually, ( to the poster who mentioned June Allyson's name in the film) the role you are referring to was played by Vera-Ellen. Danny Kaye has special meaning to my grown children as we always watched Hans Christian Andersen when they were little. All I have to do to get them in the holiday spirit is to call them long distance when WC is airing and sing..."Snow..snow...snow....". I watched it twice today already! Holiday blessings to everyone.
