Kramer was supposed to be entertaining people who paid money to see him. He shouldn't be insulting people. It's a big jump to go from a scripted performance to a live one, and he just couldn't do it, or handle the pressure.

In contrast the reply of calling someone a "cracker" as opposed to calling someone a MORE hateful response doesn't equate an appropriate response. Granted, in some way both men are wrong, but there is a larger idea to see and that is that actor Micheal Richard's isn't really a on-stage comedian. He's an actor and isn't used to the rigors of being heckled so he lost his cool. I AM NOT excusing his responses as there should NEVER be a use for this/these obscene words.

I think this debate is trite and useless; if you want to read more about this follow the link below and read about. I was watching a debate about this topic such "The View" and Rosie O'Donnell and Barbara Walters, and they also had a lot to say about this subject. If you want to know more start researching this subject and looking for transcripts and anything with NEWS credibility and not just yellow journalism or a rumor mill.

Start with the link below and see if you can make up your OWN mind instead of asking us.

Good luck!

I have no idea what calling a person a cracker means. Apparently it's not nice. I know people are talking about this but I don't know the whole story. If you're in the audience to see a performer a normal person keeps his mouth shut. So yes the guy in the audience is just as much to blame.

I think it's a double standard! The fact that rappers say the "N" word (No I don't use it!!) all the time!! And you hear all these little hip hop clowns refer to themselves as it again every other word...I have no problem with the fact that he snapped and called them something they probably refered to themselves as all day long anyway....It was the comment that precipitated it

"If it was 50 years ago you'd be hanging upside down with a fork in your a*s" That blew my mind...

Something like that just doesn't roll off your tongue unless you've thought about it before..That was unbelievably offensive and crossed every there was to cross in my mind!! The dudes career has been dead for years. So I can't even say he buried himself with that comment...But he sure let people know where his mind lies..He's racist no if's ands or buts about it.
