Dear Esha..., I would have to say yes! As a gay man I know that alot of other gay guys have str8 women as best friends. I get along way better with str8 women then I do with str8 men. I mean don't get me wrong, I like str8 men especially the HOT ones but a lot of them have attitude especially when it comes to gay guys and I just don't like that attitude so way would I ever want to be to be friends with them! Also they are interested in things I am not interested in where as the women share more of my interests and it even goes farther then that we can look at guys and tell each other if we think they are HOT or not! hehe! I have had srt8 male friends before but when they find out I am gay they no longer want to be my friends which really sucks (well actually it doesn't LOL). I would like to add tho that not all gay guy are the same just as not all str8 guy are the same just as not all srt8 women are the same so take that into consideration when reading my answer to you! But if you find a gay guy to be friends with keep him! *hugs* JAC<

No...A good friend is a good friend regardless of their sexual orientation. I used to be best friends or so I thought with a guy who is gay. I was there for him through thick and thin. We played together, shared secrets and even worked together. but he was human just like anyone else and when it came down to having my back, he just wasn't there. The worse hurt was his lack of honesty.When I tried to ask him why he was behaving like he didn't care about me as friend he refused to answer. I think he was afraid I would tell some of his very hidden secrets but I would never have done that. Then I lost a loved one and he didn't even show up at the services or call me. It broke my heart to lose him more and every day and finally I just couldn't forgive him anymore for the way he acted towards me and cut off our friendship. I went through a mourning period for the loss of that friendship but I see now that it was his loss not mine..I was a good friend, he wasn't... being gay has nothing to do with being a good friend...It's how you cherish, hold dear and are there for your friends.

i think gay guys (not to stereotype) are for some reason more understanding of how women feel- maybe its their feminine side i dont know. they seem to understand women's feelings and are still men (i guess) so they are able to give you the opposite sex's opinion
