Does anyone have friends in other countries that they switch homes with?

(I considered trying this way before the movie came out) I would really like to know if anyone has successfully done this?

Do you have friends in other countries or far off states and do you trade homes for vacations for a few weeks or months out of a year?

What are some good points and some bad points...

I wouldn't wan't someone going through my private things. But I suppose that's what the safe is for?

My mom used to swap kids with her sister in Ireland during the summer. Personally, I think they got the better deal, since they got a free trip to LA and we got banished to a farm in County Cork.
